Chicago Hollow Metal, Inc. has been in business since 1987 and is also known in the field as “The Door Doctors.” The company was formed after identifying a need in the workplace for specialized expertise relating to openings. We deal with the actual labor involved in installation and/or repair of commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-unit doors, frames and hardware.
We also operate as a supply company if you have a need for material only on any specific job or we can accommodate both disciplines simultaneously. We employ only union carpenters (Chicago District Council of Carpenters), all of whom have been with the company for a minimum of 12 years. In fact, our highly skilled technicians are constantly involved in continuing education in all related hardware, life safety, OSHA and cutting/welding techniques.
The versatility of our services with respect to commercial door openings allows us to address problem areas for a number of unique customers such as Northwestern Hospital, John G. Shedd Aquarium, Millenium Park and Chicago Transit Authority. The repair/rework must be performed in an extremely expeditious manner without disturbing surrounding areas.
Another service we offer is our field survey/consultation. It is always prudent to have an updated listing of all fire rated/fire egress/entry and exit openings with current condition information and specific recommendations as to immediate or future concerns. We offer free estimates and will look at a job to generate a proposal for our customers.
As a distributor of hollow metal doors, frames and hardware, we represent a number of manufacturing companies. We specialize in custom solutions to door opening problems as a result of the usage and/or abuse each opening will or has received. We enjoy an impeccable, industry-wide reputation and much of our business is repeat and word of mouth recommendations to new customers.
Thank you for your interest in Chicago Hollow Metal. We look forward to developing a mutually beneficial relationship with you.
